i'm experiencing odd behavior using monero gui with trezor and i'm not sure if it's a bug, feature an attempt to steal my coins.

This is likely the reason, assuming the address displayed is the actual address. You can check by running this in monero-wallet-cli: integrated_address X

And replace X by the integrated address in question.
