I don’t know, I set mine to 64 on a server and works fine, 16, 32 should also be good.

I never understood why the default of out-peers is 8 (seems low), while in-peers is unlimited.. I'll give 64 a try and see if it becomes more stable.

so that you always have one good known peer, though that should not be necessary

the other possibility is that there is a bug with syncing in v0.17.1.0 but I doubt that as no code in that region was touched

but talking to the wallet rpc yourself isn't too bad either. i think the docs might be slightly out of date, but you should just need "make_integrated_address" and "get_payments" - getmonero.org/resources/developer-guides/wallet-rpc.html

Or you could use subaddresses insetad of integrated addresses. More modern.

testnet sometimes goes wild to test stuff in advance, and it might be unstable or you might need the latest master or generally to follow latest developments. Stagenet casually forks usually 2 weeks before mainnet but otherwise is the same and does not require to follow closely.

For developers who build apps around monero the stagenet is very important. It is like a copy of the mainnet but with worthless coins so we can do lots of testing. I guess for TipXMR we have already done 2000 transactions.
