I just had a really stupid thought. I know it practically doesn't matter but imagine if Monero had a blockchain that was able to do transactions as fast as another cryptocurrency such as Solana. It would be better at scale but that's just a day dream. Most people using Monero don't seem to care about processing times and honestly, I don't either. I just had a dumb thought and thought I should share that dumb thought.

Solana will have privacy tech, can't remember what anatoly said they were looking at. Some form of STARKS. Whatever they will do will be for corporations like jp morgan. No threat to monero. Monero transactions are fast < 15s with 0-conf.

And lightning will come to monero eventually

Very true. I think most places that accept Monero require somewhere around 3 to 5 confirmations.

There are no US regulations that prohibit it from being listed or sold by completely "compliant" exchanges.

Coinbase chooses to ignore it do to investments in other tokens or some vague fear that is not real.

Same with Gemini etc.

All nodes take part in transaction propagation AFAIK, unless they are offline or not synced.

another quick question from a noob, I set up a few nodes using your guide. I was just wondering if I remotely connect to them using the GUI that the connection is encrypted by default?

I do believe that the GUI uses SSL by default, but maybe selsta can chime in?

Incoming is default unlimited, which is where you're adding value to the network

Increasing outgoing peers causes additional network bandwidth to be consumed and generally isn't beneficial.

That doesn't mean never increase outoing peers, but the default 12 should be fine for almost everything and prevents additional network load when propagating transcations and blocks.

i added a lot of mining pool nodes to my node cause I had a theory that if they are better connected it would reduce orphan block rate, not sure if that was right now

`incoming_transfers` returns a global_index and a key_image. calling e.g. `frozen(ki)` with the key image calls `get_transfer_details()` which returns a number different than the global index, so the key image and global index return different results

at least you did monero in a monero channel though

but yeah they expire in 5 min so no point creating random xtips

and azy you'd do .doge xtip all xmr which means swap all your doge for monero with another user. as Metamorphosis pointed out you probably have better luck doing taht in the #dogecoin channel unless you are talking to someone here who says they are interested in such a swap

a lot of swaps happen in #dogecoin all day mostly because it's a very active channel but also users in there are used to dealing with a variety of crypto so they love to swap
