arm is supported afaik. I don't know any details tho

it shows the error but I can def see the CPU use go up to 60% after running the start_mining commad

ARM is fully supported

the fact that it couldn't allocate the 2GB dataset just means it will mine using the 256MB slow mode

you're wasting electricity & time, but it is still going to mine

still, if you can free up 2GB of RAM it'll perform better

1 gb ram but 4gb swap. mining monero is a quick way to kill the sd card

The Raspberry pi 4 is available in a 4GB version. It would be interesting to see how the Raspberry Pi is performing.

If you'd prefer to use a raw blockchain instead of syncing from scratch, you can use the most current bootstrap. It is typically much faster to sync from scratch, however, and it also takes a lot less RAM.

I did the raw thing a while back. I was on a 100Mb connection, and had to restart download a few times. After download completed, import... I ended up deleting the raw file, and launching monerod to do it's thing. Probably saved me a couple of days. And then a got a SSD. Should have started with that :)

<TrasherDK1> if you know enough about the read/write patterns ahead of time you could use something like PLFS which optimizes the organization of stuff on disk to eliminate seeking time
