To use monero. I am trying to convince a few charities to accept crypto like monero.

does the monero daemon accept commands while running? - is there a list?

I have a few questions that I have been kind of confused on. So I can create an address for a transaction. Is that address good for multiple transactions until it is removed from my wallet? If I wanted a donation address from multiple projects that I run but wanted to use a seperate address for each that goes to the same wallet could I do that? Or would I require multiple wallets?

addresses don't appear on the blockchain anywhere, so it's safe for someone to send coins to your address multiple times and they wont get linked together

but yes it's a problem if you asked for donations on project A and project B with the same address. the wallet allows you to create subaddresses that can't be linked together, but get paid into the same wallet

and those addresses last untl I remove them? I originally assumed that they were only good for just one transaction. Neat. Is their a single reason then to actually give your main address for a transaction?

i don't think that you can remove them

it's best for privacy if you just don't use the main address and create a new subaddress for each purpose (like one for donations on your website, one for poloniex withdrawals etc.)

The main address is more compatible. Subaddresses are a fairly recent addition.

It might be it's not a concern nowadays though, not sure.

Thanks yanmaani. Monero is just cool. Seems like the perfect crypto but I rarely see people talk about it. I guess because most people I know are more focussed on mooning shitcoins instead of holding.
