Monero is the Monero of kings.

Excedrin
hi, I sent a transaction that shows up in the gui as "Pending" and "Waiting for transaction to leave txpool", and 0/10 confirmations, but my balance in this wallet doesn't reflect this transaction at all. I ran flush_txpool in the daemon, is this transaction going to go thru? If it doesn't that's fine.
-
newyearday
hello
-
newyearday
how to start transfer on new chain
-
newyearday
i have always "No outputs found, or daemon is not ready"
-
newyearday
is ok if i create fake outputs and insert on ring?
-
newyearday
anyone here?
-
charolastra
yes, but i don't know an answer to your problem
-
newyearday
thnx anyway
-
charolastra
also i think the ppl in the US are just waking up so check back in a few hours
-
newyearday
yep
-
synthable[m]
Are there any safe remote nodes to use?
-
selsta
Your own node is safe.
-
dEBRUYNE
Excedrin: Is it still stuck on pending?
-
synthable[m]
If I can't run a nice atm are there verified safe remotes ones to use?
-
selsta
You will still have to trust someone. You can e.g. use node.xmr.to:18081 which is run by a core team member.
-
selsta
Or try node.supportxmr.com:18081
-
synthable[m]
Perfect, node.xmr.to should be fine for now. Thanks
-
Inge-
binance xmr withdrawals disabled at the moment.
-
asymptotically
Inge-: did they say why?
-
Inge-
"Wallet Maintenance, Withdrawal Suspended"
-
mmxxx[m]
Still don't know why people trust binance
-
mmxxx[m]
Is their 'dex' working yet?
-
newyearday
when i try to transfer on new chain i have always "No outputs found, or daemon is not ready" hardfork v1
-
newyearday
even after mining some blocks same thing
-
newyearday
anyone here?
-
mmxxx[m]
<newyearday "anyone here?"> Sure
-
newyearday
when i try to transfer on new chain i have always "No outputs found, or daemon is not ready" hardfork v1
-
selsta
I don’t think people here are familiar with forking Monero.
-
newyearday
they know the inside
-
newyearday
so they can answer is just matter of will
-
keatonofthedrake
might have better luck within the #monero-dev channel?
-
newyearday
same people there too so difficult
-
hyc
we're here to build Monero, not to help forks
-
hyc
if you want to fork a coin, you ought to be a skillful enough developer to do it without anyone else's help.
-
hyc
because you're going to be running the end result without anyone else's help
-
selsta
there are so many monero forks, I think they can explain better what they did
-
gingeropolous
yep
-
moneromooo
keatonofthedrake: gah, don't
-
gingeropolous
step 1. steal the underpants
-
gingeropolous
step 2.
-
gingeropolous
step 3. profit
-
charolastra
step 2 is obviously sell them online
-
newyearday
what gave birth of monero and all this crypto stuff
-
newyearday
the idea of open source
-
newyearday
help for free!
-
selsta
that’s not what open source means
-
moneromooo
Monero from Bytecoin. Bytecoin from Bitcoin. Bitcoin from Bitgold, hashcash.
-
newyearday
means this too
-
newyearday
monero from opensource
-
moneromooo
That's one of the big misunderstandings of open source. Open source means "if I want to change the software, I can".
-
newyearday
not only!
-
selsta
Open source does not entitle you to free help. It’s possible that people will help you, but don’t expect it.
-
moneromooo
It does not mean "someone who alreayd gave me their software has to also spend their time heeping me".
-
newyearday
yes i agree
-
newyearday
but u understand that i have some knowledge not as u but i have
-
newyearday
so u are not giving smth for free because im not 0 level user
-
moneromooo
The latest question you asked is a clear case of "debug it".
-
newyearday
some one that just want to steal
-
moneromooo
You know how to debug software, right ?
-
newyearday
yes i know
-
moneromooo
Then start doing it.
-
moneromooo
Print logs, put breakpoints, whatever you usually use.
-
newyearday
ok your answer is better than the others
-
moneromooo
If the software prints an error message, log the value of stuff that causes it to print it. Then deduce what went wrong, or where is the previous place to repeat.
-
newyearday
asymptotically where are u
-
moneromooo
Yes, but it is nothing related to monero.
-
newyearday
im joking asymptotically is generally very tough with me
-
newyearday
is the last one that im expecting help...
-
keatonofthedrake
transaction pool has been looking pretty healthy lately
-
keatonofthedrake
guess it coincides with price increase
-
newyearday
back
-
Excedrin
dEBRUYNE: yeah, it shows up in the gui wallet but nowhere else
-
yanmaani
Just out of curiosity, are there any XMR futures traded against either USD or Bitcoin?
-
yanmaani
(not USDT)
-
asymptotically
i think bitmex had xmr/btc futures, but they got suspended a few years ago
-
Inge-
there are still xmrusdlongs and -shorts on tradingview
-
dEBRUYNE
-
Inge-
any info on binance wallet maintenance? someone said it was going on day 4 now
-
Inge-
binance xmr wallet*
-
yanmaani
BitMEX used to have them, but they delisted them
-
Excedrin
great, thanks
-
Mochi101
Inge-, ask them on Twitter?
-
Freneticks
Hey guys, I would like to create a new security crypto-service, could apply to CCS ?
-
selsta
what is a security crypto service?
-
Freneticks
a web service who's secure
-
hyc
secure in what way? against what threats?
-
hyc
To save some time - if you don't already have a track record of well written code contributed to this community, you're unluck to get support for any CCS you propose
-
hyc
s/unluck/unlikely/
-
Freneticks
Of course, but I just wanted to know if CCS is only to code for monero core project, or to fund external project that bound to monero economy
-
moneromooo
It's been used for peripheral stuff, but the more peripheral stuff goes through, the more we'll get vultures and scammers try it, so there needs to be some kind of line.
-
moneromooo
The worst are those people who really have something that's unrelated to monero and try to squint hard to find a monero angle.
-
yanmaani
MC = MR ;)
-
Freneticks
moneromooo: Strongly agree
-
binaryFate
-
Inge-
-
asymptotically
Inge-: how is it not in their control? :s
-
Inge-
good question.
-
Inge-
And why was the post deleted?
-
Freneticks
maybe backend team separate from frontend team, things like that, but it's weird
-
selsta
they seem to delete all posts
-
selsta
nothing Monero related
-
ndorf
i miss binance
-
rehrar
can someone just launch another third-party CCS where people can get their random projects funded?
-
rehrar
And that would leave core team CCS for Monero related things only.
-
kinghat
would be nice. couldnt they just use a crypto focused one thats already around?
-
rehrar
kinghat: doesn't really exist, and xiphon made the CCS so it supports Bitcoin derivatives as well as Monero.
-
kinghat
there isnt a crypto focused patreon/gofundme thing? seems like low hanging fruit. especially for all the things they dont allow for funding on those platforms.
-
asymptotically
rehrar: someone should make an FFS for asking for funding for creating a new general FFS
-
rehrar
lol :P
-
rehrar
it's all ready to go. Open source.
-
rehrar
someone just needs to deploy
-
asymptotically
that doesn't have enough billable hours in it
-
kinghat
bilbo hours
-
selsta
rehrar: The CCS is not open source :P
-
rehrar
selsta: wat?
-
selsta
It’s missing a license.
-
rehrar
ah true. Well as a person who has copyright I won't be suing
-
rehrar
but I need to get a license on that, yes
-
ndorf
-
rehrar
I'm thinking of writing a Diego license
-
rehrar
you can do whatever you want with it, but you need to include "Hail Diego" somewhere in the source code.
-
ndorf
sounds more or less like BSD 3-clause
-
ndorf
less obnoxious, even
-
ndorf
("Hail Diego" being a lot more concise than several paragraphs of all-caps text)
-
rehrar
think it would pass the standard the various FOSS foundations have for a truly open source license?
-
moneromooo
No.
-
moneromooo
Oh. Wait. Open source, sure.
-
moneromooo
Not free doftware though.
-
moneromooo
Amusingly, there was something similar with the GNU free doc licence and their immutable sections part.
-
moneromooo
Actually, thinking about it, I think I'm wrong: you could include "Hail Diego" in the copyright blurb, and require all modifications/redistribution of the source to include the copyright notice verbatim, like BSD...
-
moneromooo
Since BSD is accepted, then yours should be. Then it becomes a game of finding how much payload you can get away with...
