just FYI for everyone in channel, I read that the way thieves in san jose area work to identify what cars have laptops in the trunk or under seats is by walking around the parking lot with a bluetooth or wifi scanner

so if you leave your laptop not powered off then they can identify which trunk to pop open

Many laptops and gadgets will put out a sort of beacon by default when their Bluetooth is turned on, so that other Bluetooth devices can find them and potentially pair—even when closed or idle.

I guess other laptops have something similar
