<xmrhaelan> Hey everyone. Monero Outreach is working on an article to publish next week to leverage the historical and ongoing societal frustration and unrest and make the case for Monero as a potential tool to help people regain liberty. We hope you’ll keep an eye out and help us share it widely across social media!

<xmrhaelan> We are doing our best to make it as inclusive and respectful as possible. It doesn’t have a disingenuous “Monero solves the problem for #BlackLivesMatter” angle. Much broader context than that.

I'd also love to see the logs from the last meeting if anyone has them or could update the site
-
fort3hlulz
Sadly had to miss the meeting 🙁
-
dEBRUYNE
I can put them on pastebin if there is desire

Thanks 🙂

Had no idea that site existed!
-
niocbrrrrrr
the community workgroup website links to getmonero for logs and the newest logs there are from Oct last year
-
dEBRUYNE
There was a certain user PRing the logs to the website, I guess they stopped
-
ErCiccione[m]
yeah el00ruobuob used to upload the logs, but they haven't been active since some time. If somebody else could post the logs would be great
-
Inge-
hm. Monero could use a small payment manager for scheduling repeatable payments and stuff
-
Inge-
e.g. subscriptions but where you decide to pay every month instead of some third party putting their greasy hand into your bank account
-
asymptotically
ErCiccione[m]: i can do the ones that are currently missing
-
ErCiccione[m]
that would be great asymptotically :)
-
sarang
I think one of the Zcash wallets recently added recurring payment functionality with a nice interface
-
sarang
but I'm blanking on which it is
-
asymptotically
i don't have logs for the ones before 23rd of November 2019 :/, can do all after that though
-
sarang
There were some design decisions around handling gaps when the wallet wasn't running
-
ErCiccione[m]
asymptotically: That's still good, maybe somebody else can provide the missing ones.
-
Inge-
sarang: My initial thought was an app runnign in the background on pc/mac/linux and that had access to a wallet spend key. It could email/notify you when it sees you need to top up that wallet. And a standardized way to create a "recurring payment QR code" or something to easily add/update payment schedules
-
endogenic
oh we're talking about subscriptions!
-
endogenic
yeah the app'd have to be a daemon and there are allll sorts of complexities
-
endogenic
what if you have two daemons running for the same sec spend key on two different machines - how does one know not to spend?
-
endogenic
solvable for sure, but needs to be anticipated
-
endogenic
it's subject to many of the issues seen in typical distributed systems
-
endogenic
as you can imagine i have been thinking about it for a bit :)
-
Inge-
It is something that should be useful already (e.g. "Patreon" like regular donations for instance) - and in the future will be even more useful.
