Hi Monero Community!

I would like to probe wheter the Monero community would be ready to finance a week of research on atomic swaps?

So far, I've carried out the latest research on my spare time. I can now use my working time to continue, but for that, I need financial support.

The research would focus on adapting a variant of the protocol presented at 36C3 (github.com/h4sh3d/xmr-btc-atomic-swap/tree/dl-proof) to include ECDSA adaptor signatures.

If the research results in an implementable protocol, I will also be interested in making a reference implementation in Rust, based on rust-bitcoin and monero-rs (my library).

If the feedback you give me goes in this direction, I will register a request on the CCS.

just out of curiosity - what is your track record of previous work on Monero, or other open source projects?

hyc: on Monero I've worked on Rust libraries (github.com/monero-rs), atomic swaps, and I also did one PR on the monero wallet RPC. On Bitcoin I did some little contribution on rust-bitcoincore-rpc.

I don't get why anybody would want to swap, atomically or otherwise, perfectly good Monero into potentially filthy surveillance coins. Laundromat for tainted crap.
