Is there someone of you trust to download the blockchain from?

I'm probably missing like 20GB and that's too much to download within a timely manner.

I rephrase that question:

Is there a place from where I could download the blockchain.

i noticed that syncing through the daemon is faster than doing an import. especially if the import file and the daemon are using the same disk

Wow would I specify a custom location for the .bitmonero folder? The default is $HOME, but I would like to specify an external harddrive to see if that improves writing speed.

something like "./monerod --db-location /media/external1/"
