An update about the Monero integration on Bisq: The incubator project, where the monero integration was being develped, is being nixed. So, the future of a better Monero integration in Bisq is even more stalled than it was before

xmr/btc volumes are down recently but nothing else is up

Having a system built around xmr is so obvious for a niche application

well, monero's gonna end up pissing any developers off within the next year as we integrate new ring sig schemes with potentially new multisig stuffs

bisq is slowly killing themselves. This is only one of the reasons

gingeropolous: I need to ask around and see what other companies have used that stuff for already

i've been speaking with some community memebers about the possibility to fork bisq and create a "Misq" based on Monero

I spoke with 2 people and they were both interested in working in different parts, with limited dedicated time tho

Add an xmr and shielded (only) zec pair as an item on my wish list

i believe if we gather enough devs to cover all the main aspects of developing a platform like bisq, the project would be doable

i started to look into this deepluy months ago, but now i have limited time and i'm dedicating it to monero stuff

As soon as i'll be more free i intend to start contacting more devs to see who could be interested in putting some time in this project

i mean, i know atomic swaps aren't right around the corner...

well, i guess a marketplace would still be needed

i roughly have an idea of the resources needed, i just need to transform the idea in a practical project

i won't be able to answer for some hours, since i'm going to go AFK, but i think bisq will be dead quite soon and a monero-based bisq could be the alternative

asymptotically: there is really a lot to say, but bisq has fucked up on multiple sides, beside the absurd dev process and a tendence to centralization (which is an oxymoron for a platform claming to be a DEX),

asymptotically, i think the idea was to have monero as a base currency. i dunno the details of ErCiccione[m] 's concerns.

hmm i'll have to look into it. i noticed they had their own weird token thing to pay devs but i didn't think anything of that

oh that happened

the token is hyperinflating like there is no tomorrow. They tried to fix using the BTC donations to buy BSQ and burn them,

now they realized it's not working enough and they decided to drastically cut payments for dev

which are obviously pissed

if that wasn't enough, they are considering delisting all coins which are not the main traded ones, which is pissing of a big portion of the community

And we are not even talking about the 2 yars old features ready to be merged, still waiting and a horrible UI which crash 1 out of 2 times

The good thing is that all devs running away from bisq could be interesting in working in a monero-based bisq-like platform
