  monero does work via Tor, as far as I'm aware Tor is only used for broadcasting transactions blocks are downloaded on clearnet (by default)

  Yes, when using --tx-proxy etc. It should also work with torsocks or the like, though I've not actually tried in a good while.

  A number of nodes are probably blocking tor exit nodes though, since someone was sending 100 MB packets tkaing a lot of RAM to parse not long ago.

  If you mean coinbase the website, it's got nothig to do with monero. As for the blockchain, you don't log into it. You use your secret keys to read it and send txes that'll get mined to it.
