If you handle crypto in any way as payment system for goods as a business you technically need to register your business as a crypto processor so it can be taxed accordingly. If there weren’t laws for this then everyone would use crypto to avoid paying taxes.

in monero-wallet-cli, "failed" means the tx is not on the chain nor the txpool. I assume it's the same in the gui, but it might not.

In that case, see if you can find a button with "rescan spent" or similar wording. Click it.

What's a good way to store monero? Where should one store the wallet seed?

I mean store for long term, not for spending

Some people say to store it on a computer and keep that offline, but that seems very wasteful

Write it down on something that is not easy to damage or destroy, then store that thing in a safe place

You have an online computer with a synced chain and a view-only wallet looking for incoming transactions

You export the data of any incoming transactions and you transfer it to the offline pc (using a variety of tools)

Then the offline pc is used to generate and sign new outgoing transactions, which you transfer back to the online pc and submit to the network

I just can't get my head around how they are doing some kind of dns name translation from the ethereum blockchain to monero to simplify the addressing of wallets.
