Hi!
-
moneromooo
hi
-
matais
I am new to monero. Anyone know why is the hashrate up?
-
moneromooo
I heard someone got a massive amount of data center machines to mine.
-
moneromooo
It's unfortunate those data centers can muster such amounts of hash. That's as bad as ASIC makers really, at first approximation.
-
moneromooo
But at least it's more visible I suppose.
-
selsta
My hope is if that happens more often that cloud providers monitor for mining more closely
-
matais
How can they get away with it for so many hours?
-
moneromooo
Because the data center gets paid for it, most likely :)
-
moneromooo
Probably not by the person mining.
-
moneromooo
But this is my unfounded speculation.
-
artefact
hashrate essentially doubling overnight is very scary indeed
-
jwinterm
is it more visible?
-
jwinterm
it's just a rumor that it is on azure, no?
-
artefact
i feel a disturbance in the force... as if millions of CPUs all screamed in agony at the same time
-
moneromooo
Someone loaded windows on them ?
-
scoobybejesus
:)
-
M5M400
jwinterm: correct. azure is just a rumor at this point
-
selsta
AFAIK sech1 checked the nonce patters and they are using xmrig

Hi

istherearandomxa
What's up with the sudden. Hashrate increase?
-
istherearandomxa
Supercomputer or botnet? Can non patterns provide clues?
-
istherearandomxa
Nonce
-
Inge-
yes, patterns say xmrig

Hi who has btc?
-
ErCiccione
What platforms are bridged to this room? Matrix, mattermost, discord ...
-
exquisitebead
ErCiccione: hi do you have btc?
-
ErCiccione
Please stop it. They already told you this is not the place for that, you are only going to get a ban if you keep doing this
-
exquisitebead
Fucking ban me then
-
exquisitebead
You fucking guys are going to get it one day
-
ErCiccione
Just stop it and go somewhere else if you want to trade btc for whatever

Hihi
-
alexanarcho[m]
anybody here familiar with unstoppabledomains.com? they have the option to tie an xmr address to a .crypto domain and certain wallets can easily send funds to the corresponding xmr address by sending it to the domain. I am wondering if the official gui supports this - which i dont think so, but i know that they support open alias. i m wondering how hard it would be to implement something like that into the official
-
alexanarcho[m]
moenro wallet
-
selsta
I don’t think we will add support for it
-
selsta
openalias is a simple protocol
-
selsta
unstoppable domains is a company with affiliate system, looks rather suspicious
-
selsta
-
alexanarcho[m]
dont tell me that :D i just bought a domain there.
-
selsta
though I have to say I did not look into it too much
-
alexanarcho[m]
looks interesting, one time purchases, domains are erc 721 token iirc. hosting over ipfs is very easy,

Dude just stop.

Go somewhere else to sell your giftcards

No one wants them here, obviously, so stop wasting your own time.

i.e: someone cant use it?

asymptotically
default is that you can't do anything with it
-
dsc_
great
-
moneromooo
Unless you're a big company with lawyers on the payroll to stonewall the author.
-
dsc_
So inclusion inside Monero GUI will have to wait till it gets a more permissive license?
-
luigi1111w
I don't really agree with using pbkdf2 sha256. Something with randomx and/or sha3 makes more sense to me
-

I see

artefact
readme claims it's about the same as cracking the private key directly, doesn't it?

Wow, surprising that its actually a legit miner

it’s not most likely

Is there one for auto switching between pools/algos/coins for max profitability?
-
asymptotically
use whatever you want, like debian or ubuntu. xmrig supports switching between different algos and some pools like moneroocean.stream can tell it to do that automagically
-
asymptotically
they even sell the junk coins for you and give you shiny nice monero :)
-
fling
thanks!

<thecoder> U already dealed with that pool, moneroocean?

Hello. I have created and transfered a wallet with 1 x XMR. I have Printed: Private Address; Secret Viewkey and Secret Spend Key. Now I am simulating a disaster on another computer and want to restore the keys from my keys. How can I do that (write the keys)?
-
ruied
I know I can recover from mnemonic... Want to try with the keys
