mranostay
btw does the hashrate for solo miners get populated on the network?
-
niocbrrrrrr
mranostay: solo mining is included in the network hashrate
-
mranostay
of course i assume that is on the honor system of miner.. (of course lying would kinda silly)
-
tryphe
mranostay, actual hashrate is not really known, it's approximated using the block diff, or using the share rate if it's a pool

ghost_matrix[m]
I thought the seed and keys where stored on the ledger
-
ghost_matrix[m]
Not sure what to do.
-
ghost_matrix[m]
Or can i just generate a new wallet
-
selsta
ghost_matrix[m]: enter a date that was before you first received monero
-
selsta
e.g. 2020-02-01 if you first received monero in February
-
ghost_matrix[m]
So a random date before i purchased and transferred monero to that wallet?
-
ghost_matrix[m]
Its been a while and im to to sure when it was though
-
ghost_matrix[m]
I might go by the date i purchased my ledger because im sure i did it a few days after that
-
ghost_matrix[m]
Ok i think i got it, i just used a few days before my first transaction as a reference @sel
-
ghost_matrix[m]
thanks :)

d4ndo[m]
Is there some similar website for Monero?
jochen-hoenicke.de/queue/#0,24h
-
d4ndo[m]
Showing the mempool size?
-
fluffypony
I don't believe so
-
d4ndo[m]
too bad
-
d4ndo[m]
Bitcion is so slow - it hurts.
-
sech1
Monero doesn't have problems with mempool, so no such site is even needed
-
fluffypony
sech1: that's not entirely true, we absolutely can have a full mempool - and have had so even in the recent past
-
fluffypony
the block size limiter on Monero doesn't expand instantly, otherwise that would open up a bunch of spam attacks
-
sech1
"recent"? I don't remember...
-
fluffypony
so it only grows in small amounts and when there is a lot of upwards pressure
-
sech1
I know how long term weight limitation works
-
fluffypony
sech1: couple of months ago someone spend a bunch of old pre-RCT outputs and the mempool was full
-
fluffypony
cleared within an hour or two iirc
-
sech1
ah, that one. It wasn't full, those transactions were just very fat
-
sech1
his transactions cleared slowly, but other were fine
-
sech1
it was like 100 kb per transaction
-
d4ndo[m]
What is the average transaction size of a post-RCT transaction?
-
d4ndo[m]
I mean RCT
-
d4ndo[m]
I was waiting 5 hours for the Bitcoin transaction to get confirmed.
-
d4ndo[m]
I need to move out of Bitcoin. Imagine the next Bullrun. You cant even move that shit.
-
sech1
typical 2 in/2 out transaction is 2600 bytes
-
sech1
current block limit is 300000 bytes
-
sech1
some transactions are a bit bigger, so we can have ~100 transactions per block without problems
-
d4ndo[m]
nice. sounds good.
-
sech1
or ~70k per day before block limit starts growing
-
sech1
right now it's 10-15k transactions per day
-
sech1
so when it gets to ~70k, some transactions will have to wait 2-3 blocks before they are mined
-
sech1
then block size will grow naturally
-
d4ndo[m]
love it.
-
d4ndo[m]
To be fair. Bitcoin takes a lot of heat. Monero floats in the wake.
-
lza_menace
d4ndo[m]:
pooldata.xmrlab.com is similar - expired cert though
-
d4ndo[m]
lza_menace: thx.

I like how they use a different character for m (ɱ = Monero) So you do not get confused with meter(m)

<Nebraskka "probably in respect of monero be"> Okay thanks😁
-
rbrunner
I just noticed that the "Monero Communities" frame in the sidebar of our subreddit only shows in "old" Reddit, but not "new" Reddit. I wonder whether this is by design or by accident.
-
fluffypony
rbrunner: new reddit is stupid
-
fluffypony
I stopped using it
-
fluffypony
but yeah, custom CSS and sidebars are gone on new reddit
-
selsta
new reddit is so slow in my browser
-
fluffypony
also it shows that stupid "broadcast" thing on the front page
-
fluffypony
and if you hide that then it keeps coming back, but now with an off-by-one affecting URLs and thumbnails for every post below it
-
fluffypony
so I literally can't even browse the front page without old.reddit
-
d4ndo[m]
Yeah. That sucks a lot.
-
selsta
can’t wait until they "disable" old.reddit.com because they don't want to maintain 2 designs
-
d4ndo[m]
If the maintenance department would do so much work to maintain the old design, they would have basically done something wrong.
-
rbrunner
Wow, so many "new Reddit" fans here :)
-
guzzi
i have not yet used new reddit.
-
guzzi
i usually am on mobile.
-
guzzi
let me guess. it is the long scrolling page style where they can shove more advertising inline.
-
guzzi
i literally have no idea what it looks like.
-
DeanGuss
The new reddit is unusable without javascript too. Reddit is getting worse and worse
-
ndorf
guzzi: how'd you guess? that's exactly correct
-

-
kinghat[m]
not sure whats up with that
-
hyc
slow af = instant hate.
-
hyc
I went back to old.reddit.com
-
kinghat[m]
they are eventually going to kill it off, no?
-
hyc
i suppose
-
hyc
but hopefully not before they redesign it again. the current version def sucks
-
dsc_
Reddit /r/monero and other subreddits on mobile shows "This community is locked, please view in the app"

i hope no one considers installing the official reddit app. 'Slide' is GPL, available in F-Droid, and works well
