Wow I am #1000

Hi guys, I've been mining with XMRig for a while now, I've set coin=monero in my config and mine with MoneroOcean, it looks like MO is still able to switch algorithm, since I'm mining rx/loki. sounds like a glitch? i know i can provide algo=rx/0 to mine XMR but I was wondering about the coin option

ndorf
win64 cli download link is broken (pointing to gui instead). fixed here:
repo.getmonero.org/monero-project/monero-site/merge_requests/1184
-
selsta
ndorf: I’m confused, the website links the the CLI
-
selsta
but your patch looks correct
-
ndorf
does it for you? not for me
-
ndorf
hm, now i can't reach the site anymore. 522 from cloudflare
-
selsta
it does for me
-
selsta
even with emptying caches
-
ndorf
still unreachable, so can't double check. i definitely got the gui link though, it's what prompted me to look into it in the first place
-
selsta
-
ndorf
not sure why it's only unreachable for me, did i get my ip banned for hitting the dl link too many times or something?
-
ndorf
-
selsta
yes
-
selsta
I tried different browsers, all say cli
-
ndorf
that whole layout looks different from the one i get
-
selsta
there was a cache issue
-
selsta
try to use a different browser or empty your caches
-
selsta
once you get unbanned lol
-
ndorf
-
ndorf
all the other links are correct starting with win32
-
selsta
DId you try a different browser?
-
selsta
Or a force refresh?
-
Snipa
It's a resize bug.
-
Snipa
If you resize the window to that width, it breaks the link.
-
ndorf
i don't have any other browsers installed.
-
ndorf
o rly?
-
Snipa
Just triggered it on ffox windows.
-
selsta
oh
-
selsta
lol true
-
Snipa
Yarp, it's why your window looks weird.
-
ndorf
ha, ok
-
selsta
Once you resize the link changes
-
ndorf
that's interesting...
-
ndorf
the link in the yaml file is definitely wrong, though?
-
ndorf
what am i missing?
-
Snipa
There's a div override for mobile only.
-
Snipa
Probally something in the site generator breaking.
-
Snipa
-
ndorf
the link does become correct when resized, heh
-
selsta
not sure why mobile only uses the .yml links and the desktop version doesn’t
-
Snipa
Hard override in the source code of the md file.
-
Snipa
-
Snipa
Good bug find. :)
-
selsta
makes sense
-
selsta
was starting to get super confusing :D
-
ndorf
:)
-
ndorf
fixing the yml is still the correct fix for this? or no?
-
selsta
yep
-
Snipa
Yeah. They're doing the hard override so the site looks properly formatted on wider screens.
-
selsta
also maybe not having different sources for mobile and desktioo
-
selsta
desktop*
-
ndorf
formatting override seems to make sense, but it should use the same values from yaml in either case, no?
-
Snipa
Eh, it's a formatting thing. Narrower screens get a list, the desktop gets it broken out.
-
Snipa
As they're just using a generator loop over the mobile list. Some logic would fix it though, which would probally be sensible.
-
ndorf
i guess in this case that would only have broken the widescreen link too, heh
-
kintarowonders
Is there any kind of alternate GUI that does not need OpenGL? Something unofficial?
-
gingeropolous
kintarowonders, why?
-
gingeropolous
just curious what the need is for a non opengl gui
-
kintarowonders
ah, updates to my distro break the offical GUI from launching until I restart Xorg
-
gingeropolous
there are various flags or configs you can use to help launching gui. i forget what they are. have you tried those?

What would people recommend as a trustworthy Monero mobile wallet available through F-Droid?
-
Inge-
is monerujo available?
-
Inge-
it is the most well-known / trusted and you could compile it from source and install the apk yourself if you wanted to
-
sudakan
hi guys, what is a trusted service for exchanging XMR to BTC and other cryptos?
-
Mochi101
sudakan, tradeogre or xmr.to
-
Inge-
sudakan: well-known exchanges, xmr.to, bisq, morphtoken
-
Mochi101
"trusted" is always with a grain of salt hey.
-
Mochi101
moneroblocks.info has an expired cert
-
Mochi101
who owns it?
-
rbrunner
I think the owner recently asked on Reddit who wants to take over. Maybe 2 weeks ago or so.
-
rbrunner
-
rbrunner
And hey, expired certs are almost fashionable these days :)
-
Mochi101
jesus... 500 XMR for it
-
Mochi101
.c 45*500
-
Mochi101
Thanks though rbrunner
-
Mochi101
Expired certs mean extra clicks... not like we don't have enough of those already.

<xmrhaelan> Looks like bridge is working again. Any devs able to ELI5 what it would take to integrate Monero with something like this?
github.com/sudomesh/disaster-radio/wiki
-
xmrmatterbridge
<xmrhaelan> If anyone is willing to take a look and PM me their thoughts I’d really appreciate it. This is one of the most affordable, open source solutions to long-range off-grid transmissions I’ve seen.
-
matix-io
Anyone used bitlaunch.io or have a suggested alternative (launch a VM anonymously, pay with monero)
-
sudakan
thank you guys for your answers above, appreciate it. I asked the wrong question, I'm looking for a service to do this in an automated way
-
azy
matix-io, there's sporestack
-
sudakan
I'm working on a payment's processor and would like to support multiple currencies but allow to convert them all to a single one, i.e accept BTC/LTC/XMR payments and auto-convert to XMR.
-
azy
there's sideshift.ai
-
matix-io
azy this looks like a good solution. Any idea where their data centers are? Or who they use for datacenter provider
-
azy
i've no idea
-
matix-io
Thx azy
-
sudakan
:)
-
azy
maybe even globee sudakan
-
Jae
Do you guys have an idea of where I could buy small goodies of Monero?
-
sudakan
thank you azy. the system is plugin-based so multiple should be supported but i'm looking for one to have a feel of the APIs and, if testnets are supported to test on development
-
rottensox
Jae: localmonero.co.
-
sudakan
Jae: perhaps r/xmrtrader
-
Jae
rottensox: I mean buy with Monero, I already have some
-
rottensox
Openbazaar?
-
Jae
sudakan: Ok, lemme see
-
rbrunner
Openbazaar does not support XMR - yet
-
Jae
Never tried Openbazaar
-
rbrunner
But true, if you have BTC, you can buy all kinds of stuff there. So maybe xmr.to to the rescue :)
-
Jae
Aw, no official package for OpenSUSE
-
hyc
xmrhaelan that disaster radio thing looks interesting, but also a bit complex. why do they make you open a websocket to an HTTP server on their chip just to send a mesage
-
hyc
that means it's running both a standard wifi radio and their 900MHz radio
-
hyc
quite power intensive approach. They should have just made it plug in via USB, be USB-powered
-
hyc
direct comm over USB will consume less power than over wifi
-
hyc
the LoRa radio modules they rely on are closed source and patented; they're using a reverse-engineered module in GnuRadio
-
hyc
that exposes them to legal liabilities, if the LoRa company gets pissed off
-
hyc
Nice ideas, but not very wise implementation approach
-
xmrmatterbridge
<xmrhaelan> Thanks for that hyc. Would it be difficult to fork their code and make those adjustments? Is their a comparable alternative to LoRa?
-
xmrmatterbridge
<xmrhaelan> *there
-
xmrmatterbridge
<xmrhaelan> Is this working on the same layers or different?
gnunet.org/en

jtgrassie
xmrhaelan: I've used Sigfox (which has excellent coverage), before but unfortunately thats proprietary as well.
