Here's an example of how reproduce for papers:

visit web.getmonero.org/resources/research-lab

open the MRL-0011 tab and select "Read Paper"

I get inconsistent behavior with it loading or not loading the PDF correctly

I think the CDN had not been flushed after new MRL material was put online, hence the difference when you were hitting it or not

For the issues with binaries mentioned on reddit, without more info I cannot investigate

Yes. But the flush of website and mrl material is different. I suspect the latter had not been done.

Why are they different?

cause they leave on different boxes for security reasons and have different subdomains. At least the binaries and website, I'm not sure why that was applied to the lab too.
