Nothing says peer review like your own journal

I've probably said this before, but I would love to see a Journal of Incremental Cryptography

There are so many papers that it becomes a contest for who does the most earth-shattering stuff

and there's a lot of good incremental work that seems to have no proper home

I think it'd be useful for the ecosystem

especially for applied stuff

If journals/proceedings only want big new flashy things, there's not really a good home for solid incremental work that has good applications

and because the submission/review process is so long, work can quickly become less big new flashy

Preprint archives serve a kinda sorta home for that stuff, but there's no review here

I think CLSAG falls into that incremental improvement stuff... it's smaller and faster, and now has a much better security model than the early work, but it's not world-shattering by any means

but it's a clear and definite improvement with great applications

Yet it may never find a journal/proceedings home, depending on reviewers' whims

isn't the more basic problem a lack of reviewers?

I'm sure that's true for many journals/proceedings

and a thorough review is time-consuming
