if FPGA can do 3-4x efficiency, ASIC can probably do 10x efficiency

their main mistake was going core heavy with very simple and integer only instruction set

ASIC/FPGA can save a lot of energy on core heavy part, so it's even less resistant than ETHash

Regarding RandomX, the only thing I've heard so far were Xilinx U50 FPGAs doing 6.5 kh/s @ 75 watts, a bit worse than a tuned Ryzen rig

and that's a $2000+ board

with Ryzen 3900X rig you get 2x the hash for half the price and a bit higher power efficiency too
