To incentivize solo mining, we need 10x more blocks/day. Only then smaller miners would have chance to mine a block.

xmr already switched from a 1 minute block time to a 2 minute block time target

eth gets a ton of orphans, but they're a feature so they call them "uncles" instead :P

ok but wouldnt it reduce some metadata, that is always stored although the blocks are empty

a few hundred bytes for the actual block. more when it goes into the database

seems like we don't get many empty blocks now though, which is nice
