So basically a guy works at HTC, and also leads a VC firm. He wants to pump an ASIC designer in which he's invested, so makes the ASIC designer write a mining app that has nothing to do with ASICs, and announces a partnership with HTC.

Short term pump money grab, I'm not sure how HTC is ok with that as it seems like clear conflict of interest.

For Monero it's some PR at least, I guess
