Curious, has there ever been any contemplation on using Rust for the project?

riceandbeans: Maybe just that, "contemplation". Rewriting the core Monero software in Rust would be such a monumental undertaking that probably nobody seriously thinks about actually doing it

The craziest thing about that is that rbrunner wasn't in the channel at my statement of the contemplation, joined 29 minutes later, answered the question, and then left right after.

Tari Labs has a very far future long-term goal to maybe possibly tackle that
