2) Grayhat review.

We were officially accepted, and I guess we will be asked to give a logo soon(because there are a lot of village logos on their website.)

The CFPs are finishing. That's what I see and hear.

the Greyhat website mentions villages and havens... which are we, and is there a difference?

where are the village logos on their website?

We were requested to participate in the same form as our Defcon village, and the other icons listed on the website are villages as well.

They are CSS transform graphics that animate, do you see the logos?

Yes, as soon as we are asked we can use the regular logo.

Do the other villages have websites for grayhat?

Is grayhat offering a place on their site for village schedules? I'm guessing not by the looks of it.

Most villages have a 'upcoming events' section where they put things like 'appearaing at Grayhat' but I have not looked.

I think they will publish on the main Grayhat site whatever schedule we and other villages give them, yes.

Do you think our Defcon village specific website should be made generic to support other village appearances rehrar?

I guess it wouldn't be too difficult to modify the Monero Village website to apply to more conferences.

It can have a historical catalogue of the other villages we've done also (which is the past years of Defcon).

Yes, those are good ideas. But it requires work and looks quite good as it is.

they don't have mention of grayhat yet. But they all have so many sponsors.

Why did we get crap for having a couple of sponsors a couple years back?

Yes, those are good questions. As well as the one nobody is asking like what is this with a big sponsor program everywhere.

We still have the idea on the books to join the others in seeking sponsorship, which is what the 'rewards' item is in the agenda.

well, it may be because we're a new village and still kind of establishing ourselves. Keeping up the super anti-corporate image for a while would be beneficial. When we are a little more entrenched as a staple in the conference, we can maybe take a few bolder moves.

The idea is to see if more of the 10K community participate if there are rewards from sponsors. Which is kind of a not so nice idea, but it is experimental.

I'd be against this. I think we'd see a rise mediocre content as people work on things just for the reward.

We had one deadline so far, to enter the proposal before Friday.

Other activities they expect are organising content, but there is no deadline for publishing a schedule.

needmoney90 made a great CTF type game for an EAE attack that came out at the last second for Defcon. I think it came out juuuuust a bit too late for us to get the word out for it.

The person who announced our acceptance gave me very few answers to the questions I knew some of us would pose.

But we can recycle it and maybe expand on it for Grayhat maybe.

They said it will be self serve for each village to do as they please. So if we want IRC instead of Discord we just need to publish that.

The general idea is to find the things we didn't finish in time for Defcon and try to finish them for Grayhat (because most are 95% or even 100% done.)

I' quite hopeful that we get the tippero running on Discord, for example.

who is responsible for the tippero bot?

But I think another person (that he found) who wrote the code is quite active in promoting and supporting it for our village use.

Cool. Is there a place on the taiga with some ideas for some workshops or other things we'd "like to have"?

I can see if I can't track down some talent to get those things accomplished.

The task is set up to be our self serve presentation buffet if we don't have a CFP coordinator.

Probably best to do it that way for now.

If we get a huge influx of contributors that requires coordination, we can revisit to the coordinator position

but it seems to be a handful of people at the moment. Probably best to just post the things you'll be responsible for and do them.

10) Subprojects.

We already mentioned the general idea of finishing projects that we didn't complete for Defcon.

Tippero or Badge applications for example.

That depends if we can motivate people who are capable enough to be creative (with Python, greek language, artwork, etcetera.)

Put the 'nice to haves' on that page, and I'll see what I can do also.

There may be content or ideas to apply at Grayhat from HCPP which is a conference in Prague that takes place about 3 1/2 weeks earlier than Grayhat.

Maybe alongside the thing, put what kind of skills would be needed to implement.

I kind of understand your request rehrar, but I wanted that story to be a collaborative one that each person adds several ideas and actually pledges to do one.

It's still okay however, if I put ideas there and you try to find people to do them.

I'm just trying to be practical about it, but we can do it however you think is best.
