so it might not work. you should be able to install hexchat instead though

I avoid installing new software to tails unless I can find no other alternitative, but its good to know thats an option, thanks

I personally use Hexchat for IRC when wanting clean logs to export to some other meeting minutes source. Reasonably safe, FWIW
