Apparently the JS code is nonfunctional anyway, but might as well be rid of it

Yeah, it’s essentially a block explorer that focuses on the mempool/fee market

But still let’s you view blocks, transactions, addresses etc

Play around with mempool.space to get a feel for it, it’s awesome 😎

Would be great to include Monero’s dynamic block sizes

Also noticed a `manifest.json` file request in my browser dev console that returned `404`... not sure if that's some weird client-side thing, or an actual bad request

Any idea on that?

(favicons also don't exist FWIW, but I know that's a browser-initiated request usually)

Sure

Long story short, now proceding to move forward w/ creating MoneroCommunity Mastodon/Pleroma (think Twitter, but FOSS and federated over ActivityPub protocol) instance.

Had been mulling finding a good way to mirror the Twitter account into fediverse over the last two years to build presence.

However a lot of instances aren't 'retweet' bot friendly. Then the Twitter hack happened last month and decided there really needed to be a fall back that we controlled.

Still in the process of working out some technical particulars w/ help from the hacking community, but I'm aiming to have the VPS company and servers be Switzerland based to try and protect users at least legally. Announcements will be PGP signed, etc etc.

Rules will basically be the MoneroCommunuty CoC

Currently preoccupied w/ DEF CON / hacker summercamp related stuff, but hopefully should be up and running in the next 1.5-2 months. Would love volunteer moderators. The end.

The verification numbers in their table are not representative of a Monero implementation, since their BP numbers did not use some of the optimizations we did

Verification will be marginally faster, but likely on the order of 1-2% or so

Size benefits are present: 96 bytes per transaction, regardless of the number of outputs (but still subject to consensus rules)

The risks are that it's critical consensus code, that it is extremely new with not many eyes on it yet, etc.

One option is to have the proposers do an audit of any implementation, since they have experience with this

They would not write the implementation and audit it, of course

So the question is whether or not the size benefits are considered worth the cost and risks

I mentioned in #mrl before that I'd be kind of hesitant to touch sensitive crypto code for mere size optimizations

Especially considering we have a proper pruning implementation

Of course, it's not like the math expires... it's certainly possible to wait until the construction receives more examination

Bitcoin basically almost suffered an inflation bug due to some minor verification improvements that touched sensitive code
