My pure speculation is that the hacker got way broader access than expected and had already lined up the scam for a few larger crypto accounts

This seems apparent with the large gap in time from the first hacked tweet and the second

Seems like he realized how broad his access was and just decided to throw something out there before he got locked out

IMO it's either that, or it's simply cover to make the hacker look stupid while the access was used for something more nefarious (like harvesting DMs)

If one's DMs were harvested it likely wasn't but a single user but rather people who paid $250 for email reset of that particular account

Harvesting DMs isn't the modus operandi of the group either, they tend to do 'BTC heists'

Namely a Twitter employee deleting the POTUS account. You would think there would be some 2+ signoff or something by now on these admin control events to prevent abusive exs, etc from screwing with peiple

The only thing that seems to have happened based on who wasn't affected is that Jack and maybe a few others have exclusive admin event control over POTUS/white house accounts
