I was referring to monero-project/research-lab #70 where UkoeHB_ was mentioning EMPs as a possible cause of the economic disruption. This was Feb 16 just before the economic impact of COVID-19 was picked up by the markets

The key is how will the Monero network handle a sudden drop in use followed by a sharp increase in use to levels much higher than before the disruption

I can see how COVID-19 can create such a scenario
