Without going too much OT, the ELI5 would be: they are world market indices. Lower they go, shittier the global economy is. Right now we are at 2008 level shittiness

and consider those values are not going further down because they are halted, to avoid people dumping to 0

[discord] <Kayla#5718>: an other calculation could according to nethash, that's the one thing that hasnt changed, well maybe from 1.4 to 1.2 but its stable at 1.2GH/s so doing the calculation on how much electricity it cost to do 1.2GH/s, there is like 30 blocks per hour x 24 hours within a day so like 720 blocks per day, how much MH/s over 3 months is your work worth and doing the calculation like that instead of USD

Now that i think about it, we have some updates from core that haven't happened yet: report on the general fund and the report of what happened when getmonero got compromized. I mean, have been months now and it's quite important stuff

We are putting a lot of trust in the core team in these years, i think should be rewarded with giving at least the report that were promised

and i know that i'm always the pain in the ass, but i'm a big fan of the phrase: "eternal vigilance is the price of freedom"
