00:51:30 slt:) 04:39:29 thanks ErCiccione ! 04:40:50 Zta: 10 transaction 'unlock time' of funds helps improve privacy, nothing else. 06:27:36 Reminder, that the next village staff meeting (for Defcon 29 in Las Vegas August 2021) is today Saturday 5 June at 18:00 UTC on #monero-events. 06:27:44 https://github.com/monero-project/meta/issues/576/ 06:27:50 It's a public meeting where anybody can participate and inform theirselves of our village plans at Defcon. 08:37:18 moneromooo fluffypony rehrar binaryFate: FYI #monero-research-lab and #monero-research-lounge are voice-only but almost nobody has voice, so the channels are practically orphans. #monero-dev doesn't seem to rely messages to matrix, but works the other way round. 08:41:26 .beg 08:41:27 parazyd: How long is the word first 08:41:29 5 08:41:30 parazyd: @bonuspot tipped 0.0000004 XMR to parazyd [762b682e] Wait ≈23 hrs 58 min before trying again. @bonuspot: 0.01583357 08:41:36 .bal 08:41:36 parazyd: 0.0000659 XMR (≈$0.02) 12:18:20 zcashmoon[m]: what do you mean I "mysteriously come back" ? 12:18:38 I've never gone away 12:19:20 also idiotic to say that I'm moneromooo, you can literally find pictures of me at parties in Miami whilst moneromooo is pushing code or talking on IRC 12:19:41 plus I'm a VERY mediocre developer 13:25:44 Village meeting (for Defcon 29 in Las Vegas) in about four hours on #monero-events. 15:13:49 lol 15:14:54 What . . . is going on, exactly? 16:59:34 so i launched monerod and left it syncing. It ended up taking up a pretty large amount of memory over the last 8 hours or so. When i shut it down and re-launched it is now taking considerably less. Does it's memory footprint increase with time normally? Or does it not clear uneeded memory that was used during sync? 17:00:02 about 700mb reduction by re-launching 17:03:09 rojiro: it takes memory that it really is not using and will give it up if something else needs it 17:05:37 what portion of the deamon is allocating that? what does it have it primed up for? 17:06:11 It had my swp maxed out 17:17:12 not sure of many details, I think it is LMDB (database) that takes the extra memory 17:17:43 Not near mine so can't check 17:42:55 It's memory mapped space, allocated by the OS. 17:53:50 . 17:54:13 moneromooo: Thanks. i see. i'll learn a bit more and ask any follow ups after doing some research.
