what would be the easiest way to move monero from a wallet that is not synced to my ledger? i understand how to create a wallet for my ledger. but how do i best move my monero without being able to send from my pc wallet?

You can't, just have to sync up the non-Ledger wallet and then can send those funds to the Ledger wallet

Can always use a remote node for the initial sync if needed, like my node `node-1.sethsimmons.me`.

But I prefer using "full" wallets like the official GUI or Feather (featherwallet.org).

The whole purpose is that the private keys are kept in an HSM and not exposed

Using an existing seed would make that a moot point as it could have been exposed before.

The new Ledger wallet won't have to sync more than a few blocks right now since it's new.

So just sync old wallet, send to Ledger, set restore height to block before the transaction confirmed, done :D
