it's possible to detect 51% attack if it's coming from a pool, but not possible to mitigate. Well, maybe alerting miners and telling them to switch to another pool might help

the bot relies on WHO/WHOIS to verify you are logged in

if those are down the bot can't verify you

but there are also cases the bot doesn't know such as if you are not logged into freenode & join. the bot does whois to checj you & says you're not logged in

the bot does not get notified if you login AFTER You join

and to limit whois flooding they are rate limited

so if you join without logging in first then login you must wait awhile before it sees you logged in. normally you can just /cycle after 60 sec or so

oh there was a netsplit too. notice Wallet left & came back. that clears all logins

and after netsplit there is shit ton of whois lookups that are needed again & they're rate limited

i err on side of caution with login status & assume NOT logged in if it can't be verified. i figure better to get false error you're not logged in than letting someone steal your coins

irc is such a cluster*&#* of kludges. it'd be nice if they just disabled "guest" access & all users must register & login before they can join channels like every other platform out there

that's up to the channels, there is a flag so that only registered users can join

twitch chat is just modded irc which has no whois/who because users can't use it unless they are logged in so if they are there you know they're logged in & no need ot lookup
