Is anyone here familiar enough with Trezor devices to give people support with them, and also familiar with Matrix?

I always prefer the nuclear option with git.

Remove the entire thing, clone it down clean, then start again

Or just don't let anyone push to important branches. Which tends to work well.

oh i can't do that! i need to move it to a new folder and let it sit there eating up tiny magnetoelectric orientations

do the automatically banned peers have lower TTL? was just checking the ban list and there's one peer with very low TTL. others have very long.

could a monero wallet run there?

still having the 1-2 block problem with 0.17.1.6, but i don't see bad nodes like before. maybe a new trick?
-
Inge-
maybe set a known-good node up as a preferred peer?
-
camalonso
i mean my own node is behaving bad, even with latest updates and block.txt
-
ErCiccione[m]
treehermit: clean the cache of your browser and try again
-
selsta
camalonso: did you enter "sync_info"
-
selsta
if yes, post the output to paste.debian.net
-
selsta
my nodes with latest block.txt and v0.17.1.6 are all fine
-
sech1
same here, no 2 block problem with .6 and block.txt
-
camalonso
doh, syncing again... maybe it lost the offending guy. i'll post sync_info if this continues
-
selsta
also try downloading the latest version:
gui.xmr.pm/files/block.txt
-
selsta
it sometimes gets updated
-
camalonso
selsta: if i find more bad peers, what's the preferred medium to share?
-
selsta
camalonso: posting sync_info output here

got it

is it time for barolo?
-
thrmo
seems like it
-
endor00[m]
If only the Monero Barolo weren't so bloody expensive...
-
Inge-
what price are they? like 1 XMR?
-
endor00[m]
0.7 xmr (just checked), which at the current price is ~77€
-
endor00[m]
For reference, a good bottle of wine is around 5€, 10€ is already expensive
-
endor00[m]
Even the top quality Barolos that I found are in the 20-40€ range
-
thrmo
that's mass production stuff
-
thrmo
not bespoke
-

does it taste better than production stuff?
-
thrmo
i guess you would be the judge of that.
-
endor00[m]
<thrmo "that's mass production stuff"> Nah, plenty of non-mass-produced wines don't cost that much
-
endor00[m]
At 77€/bottle you're paying for the novelty item, not the wine

Polemos_
Hello I am having problems with the latest release. I am on linux so monero-gui-linux-x64-v0.17.1.6.tar.bz2
-
Polemos_
I noticed that when the sync was about to finish it got stuck at 1 / 2 blocks remaining. I quit the wallet and try to restart and now it seems to not be finding my wallet (it starts with choose you language)
-
Polemos_
any ideas?
-
Polemos_
thanks in advance
-
sech1
To fix 2 blocks remaining you need to apply the ban list
gui.xmr.pm/files/block.txt
-
sech1
add --ban-list block.txt to monerod command line
-
sech1
as for the wallet, no idea. Check if the files are still there.

Polemos_: did it stop finding your wallet immediately after you upgraded to v0.17.1.6 ?
-
selsta
Polemos_: try deleting ~/.cache
-
Polemos_
tobtoht selsta It went fine with v0.17.1.6 until those 2 latest blocks. After that I rebooted the app and then the select language appeared. I tried with monero-gui-v0.17.1.4 and same thing. v0.17.1.4 was working fine until that point
-
Polemos_
@selsta where /.cache would be located? Are you referring to /home/user/.cache/monero-project/monero-core/qmlcache ?
-

any recent instructions for ledger nano s + monero-wallet-cli setup in linux?
-
kayront
i'm having trouble with recognizing the ledger
-
selsta
kayront: what is the error message?
-
selsta
Polemos_: yes, you can try deleting that
-
kayront
selsta: first monero-wallet-cli couldn't find it at all, then i might have added the udev rules, but then i remembered something about pcscd as well, but that's not needed anymore right?
-
Polemos_
thanks selsta will try
-
kayront
now i get the export viewkey prompt at the ledger, but the wallet is hung after "Confirm password:" (i was creating a new wallet)
-
kayront
i accepted the export minutes ago
-
selsta
kayront: pcscd should not be necessary
-
kayront
oh, it woke up now
-
kayront
ok, so nevermind, it must have been working since i added the udev rules
-
selsta
Polemos_: afterwards open your old wallet agaib
-
selsta

-

a note on pscd: here on my ubuntu box I somehoe need to "sudo kill" it, after plugging in my 2FA card..
-
selsta
do you use local node or remote node?
-
Polemos_
selsta I am using local node. What do you mean by "open your old wallet"? the previous version v0.17.1.4?
-
selsta
no, v0.17.1.6
-
selsta
even if you see the language
-
selsta
language screen, just open your previous wallet again
-
jess
thrmo: the latter
-
thrmo
either one is commendable.

selsta I am getting the same behavior. 1 block remaining, then 2 block remaining on blockchain sync...seems to be stuck. This is the point I decided to reboot previously and got the language screen. For this installation I choose to begin with a blockheight in order to speed up a bit the blockhain sync. Not sure if that could be related

I want to send my Monero to Bittrex.I have connected the wallet with Ledger. I can login into my Monero wallet, it synchronizes successfully. But when I want to send Monero, I receive an error message: "Transaktion could not be created. unexpected error: Unable to send hidapi command. Error 64: the device is not connected."

-
selsta
nueno: did you unplug your Ledger?
-
nueno
setup for udev? I never heard hm
-
nueno
I did not unplus the Ledger, it was connected and I confirmed in beginning when logged into my Monero wallet, since then I kept it connected
-
nueno
I now have sent an email to ledger support too. Not sure if Monero or Ledger can help. Its weird to use a wallet with Ledger and 1-2 years later I can not access
-
