RELATIVISM3, if you know a bit about what is happening in Venezuela, you'd know why the article is full of lies. Personally i consider any article about south america coming from the US as probably bullshit. What they did through history to their neighbours is beyond horrible and media played a big role in covering stuff up.

Hey again, I'm setting up my own node on a local machine. I understand what the RPC ports do, but what is the purpose of the P2P ones? Do I need to allow incoming connections?

The P2P port allows your node to talk to other nodes. Mostly for keeping up to date with the blockchain. You don't strictly need to allow incoming connections, but doing so strengthens your connection to the network.

I'm trying to download the blockchain.raw file from the official site, however the connection speed completely drops after a minute of downloading

How do I prevent that?

Downloading through P2P gives me even worse speeds

Download using P2P.

It also verifies the blockchain so download speed usually isn’t the bottleneck.

yes it slows things down a lot
