Hey all! This is my first time on this channel. I am hosting a full Monero node and I am trying to nail down some answers on the RPC-Pay feature. There are a few questions I have not been able to get answers to from the docs or Reddit. First, does RPC-Pay only benefit the node owner if they are solo mining? Does it only allow for credit against found blocks while the users are connected to the node that donated

the hashes? Is there any way for those hashes to be used while pool mining?

By RPC-Pay do you mean the mine-for-rpc system ?

If so, it's unrelated to the node owner mining. The wallet client mines for the node.

The second question is unclear. The third question, sure, those are independent things.

@moneromooo are you saying that if the wallet is mining and has earned credit by giving me hashes, that wherever the wallet mines (solo or a pool), I will eventually get credits for blocks they help solve?

I said nothing about pools except it's unrelated.

If a client mines for you and finds a block, you will get the block reward.

(and not the miner; in this instance it's similar to a pool)

I would love to see the documentation provide some scenarios as this feature progresses that show how the incentive works. That would make it clearer for me.

I just reread what gingeropolous had written on moneroworld.com. That is helpful. Basically, you can create a mining pool through this feature. Your node plus all of the clients using your node.

Yes, it's very similar to a pool. Except insteadof paying miners the block reward back, you offer service.
