what does it check against?

it checks your signature against the hashes.txt, and then it downloads all the bins from the website and compares the hashes

well the new bins are not there yet. I can't make them available before the updated website (mostly hashes.txt) is updated

right, it shouldn’t be a problem to upload them early, just change the redirect at a later point

we probably need a secondary redirect. Otherwise not sure how the job knows it has to find them with the specific 0.16.0.3 naming

oh it could just grab filenames from hashes.txt, nvm

for downloads.yml it just follows the redirects. can probably look up e.g. "gui/win64" and turn that into the filename but i had enough of bash at that point lol

But you could get the filenames from hashes.txt and get the file directly without using the redirections
