08:28:07 after reading this https://www.reddit.com/r/Monero/comments/gqnuqh/monero_website_bitcoin_miners_malware/ i tested getmonero.org on virustotal. I did it some time ago and there were no results. Now apparently getmonero is flagged as malware for comodo and suspicious for Forcepoint ThreatSeeker (never heard of this one) 08:28:15 i'm writing an email to comodo folks 09:40:01 lame 11:14:55 weird Now also "Certego" flags it as suspicious. It wasn't there when i tested it a couple of hours ago: https://www.virustotal.com/gui/url/9f5bcf42fe42b4481d8f3517f0ed6a89f9c3f4751d124b153522e3ce35c55d64/detection 11:15:59 A useful thing to know would be, do they do the same for other scammier coins' sites. 11:16:24 Though it's not prime facie I guess. Still a hint. 11:22:18 moneromooo: i just quickly tried a bunch of cryptocurrency websites that offer binaries: zecwallet.co guarda.com bitcoin.org dash.org bitcoincore.org dogecoin.com 11:22:39 all except bitcoincore.org are completely clean 11:22:59 bitcoincore.org is flagged as phishing website from comodo 11:23:23 https://www.virustotal.com/gui/url/062742f0e98677e4078ec1c571a236a9a747da1adea08b579c1374150e6c8219/detection 11:24:35 but still, we get 2 "suspicious" and one "malware" (from comodo, which is crap at this point). No other website is that bad 11:33:49 ok I think that's because the Monero binaries are / were flagged as malware 11:33:57 because they get installed on servers to mine 11:37:39 yeah. I contacted AV companies some time ago about it, but didn't really have much success: https://github.com/monero-project/monero-gui/issues/1747
