I saw there that Supercop was finally merged. Great. Sometimes you get the impression poor moneromooo has to duke it out with bugs whereas vtnerd can do the flashy stuff :)

Out of curiosity: has Monero always had view key support out of the box or is that a relatively recent feature?

it is not recent, but I can’t say if it existed from day one

It had support for receiving monero obviously. Not for a view key only wallet.
