Seems like people keep finding huge GPU improvements to Nano’s PoW algorithm nanocurrency/nano-work-server #18

so now they announced they will increase the required PoW to transact by 8x, low powered devices without a GPU will probably be unable to send in the future

selsta: does it look like it was released intentionally gimped, like cryptonight? 80% speedup sounds amazing

asymptotically: I don’t think so, there would be no point in it

considering that most servers don’t have a GPU, requiring a GPU optimized PoW before sending sounds like an awful idea
