how do we feel about removing the x200 fee option from the GUI?

the average tx fee is 10x the median fee largely because of txs that use that option

You think by mistake ?

I imagine it's users who are coming from Bitcoin and equate the Slow option with "within a few days, maybe" and "fastest" with "next block"

well, when monero is used by the whole world, the 200x could be needed to get into the next block

we probably have a few more years to go until then

many btc wallets set / suggest the fee according to the mempool

that would be ideal. the current labels don't paint an accurate picture

I agree it's misleading when there's no space contention

bitcoin Median vs Mean tx fees fluctuate around 2x and only rarely go to 3x. for Monero it's in the range of 10x - 30x

I think it's because only satoshi and mark karpeles have enough bitcoin to afford a x30 bitcoin fee.

yeah it's a good problem to have when people can pay x30 the fee without noticing
