scoobybejesusCool!
-
selsta
-
fort3hlulzThanks!
-
fort3hlulzWill test shortly
-
fort3hlulzWorks perfectly so far :)
-
fort3hlulzAnd holy hell wallet sync is fast
-
fort3hlulzIdk what changed, but between 16.0 remote daemon (my own) and GUI a sync from scratch took no time
-
selstahmm, not sure
-
fort3hlulzMaybe nothing
-
fort3hlulzJust seems fast :D
-
selstait includes "Daemon: faster fetching of consecutive transactions"
-
selstawhich improves wallet sync speed
-
fort3hlulzNice :D
-
moneromoooThat patch only speeds up the daemon side. So the wallet will sync faster only if the daemon was the bottleneck, if the two processes are on separate hardware.
-
selstaweird, I tried it and it was faster on the same hardware but maybe my test was too unscientific
-
selstathough it was like a 30% diff
-
moneromoooNo, that's quite possible.
-
moneromoooOn the same hardware, they jostle for resources to some extent.
-
fort3hlulzwallet and daemon are diff hardware
-
fort3hlulzso that makes sense
-
selstafort3hlulz: did you also test the installer?
-
fort3hlulznot yet no
-
selsta.merge+ #2926
-
xmr-prAdded
-
fort3hlulzfull sync from height=0 in <10m
-
fort3hlulzDidn't get exact time but seems very quick compared to the old das
-
fort3hlulz*days
-
selstafull scan?
-
fort3hlulzyup!
-
fort3hlulzCrazy
-
fort3hlulzTesting installer right now, so far so good
-
selstait will get even faster once monero-project/monero #6337 is merged
-
fort3hlulzWOW
-
fort3hlulzCrazy how rapidly verification times and sync times are improving lately
-
fort3hlulzAWESOME work to all
-
fort3hlulzfull sync from 0 11.5m
-
kinghat[m]wait, wat? 0 blockchain to 100% in 12min?
-
fort3hlulzno wallet sync from height 0
-
fort3hlulzusing a remote v0.16 node
-
kinghat[m]👌
-
moneromoooIt'll be vtnerd's turn next, switching to an asm crypto lib for wallet sync. That gets you another 30% or more IIRC.
-
fort3hlulz:D
