Should simple mode be working out of the box on Tails?

We did not do any Tails related coding for simple mode.

Alright, because i quickly tried simple mode yesterday and it couldn't connect, but i didn't really investigate.

If you have to run any networking app through torsocks on Tails -> Simple mode won't work

^ because under the hood GUI runs "./monerod" process in background

we could disable simple mode for Tails

Or add Trails-only workaround to start "torsocks ./monerod" instead of just "./monerod"

If can be fixed just running monerod through torsocks, yeah, it might worth it, otherwise probably better to disable it.

how to execute the binary detached? the AppImage shortcut isnt being picked up by my system

executing the binary via terminal it stays attached. i dont remember it operating this way but its been a min since ive ran it.
