I think the DNS records for auto-update are quite outdated

Someone a while back (like a few years probably) wrote some code to recover monero sent to a bastard address made from a subadress base but using standard address crypto (due to someone joining a payment id to a subaddress). I can't recall who that was or where the code is. Ring any bell ?

That looks like the same fuckup, yes. The person said they posted on reddit a week ago and replies did not help, so it's most likely the same person.
