mfoolb_: the message should not show up on startup, it’s a bug that happens since monero-project/monero #7021

it maybe is technically correct that there you are "Unable to send transaction" directly on startup but the message is a bit pointless

I think everyone here knows that most Monero exchange withdrawals and desposits are traceable (Breaking Monero - poisoned outputs). How does it feel to go out and lie to people that they are private and then earn less than holding BTC on your bag?

Well, it might potentially be useful. I doubt it'd be tbh, but it's at least not obviously pointless (ie, if it was for network data).

FWIW, QR codes (that can be transmited with data error) have built-in ECC.

(my error correction is patented until 2015 at least anyway...)

Hmm... taking a look at Monero's source code, it seems similar enough to the Cryptonote Starter, of which I am quite familiar with.

mebbe you should just fork that, since it was made specifically for that purpose

Well... The cryptonote starter is so outdated and stale that I would feel more comfortable using a crypto that still gets updates
