Anyone knows why a Qt program might also open a console to spew stdout ? Is there some init flag to tell it not to ?

Does someone running a node with lots of connections want to run with 6170 and net.p2p.traffic:INFO for a day or so and then run utils/logs/levin-traffic.awk ~/.bitmonero/bitmonero.log ?

This is P2P only, so the node does not need to be a public RPC node, just one with lots of in and out connections.

This is to see whether/how large amounts of connections change the traffic distribution from mine.

Hey all, I've been looking into alternative json serialization libraries to replace epee (I previously asked about json_dto) and I was wondering if nlohmann/json would be an acceptable replacement

Their main app is closed source, but they have a single currency implementation for most of their coins

It is widely used, header-only, and works with C++11

I assume it works the same, otherwise we may need to do a network capture

Is it faster ? Does it fix some bugs or limitations the current code has ? Other ?

Does anyone with windows want to try github.com/moneromooo-monero/monero-update and see if it crashes in gpgme code ?

For that program, no.

Gitian is basically: select who you trust, check the hash they claim is the one you have.

So your signatures help whoever decides to trust your claim.

In practice, I suspect many people will trust anyone who PRed to the repo.

Don't let this discourage you from PRing hashes please. This does help. Just not automated things which have to be conservative since they can't make judgement calls in the future.

I think sigs don't get merged if the hashes don't match.

I've been very enthusiastic about reproducible builds.

If TheCharlatan becomes compromised and plenty of sock puppets get matching bad hashes merged, the builtin pubkeys guard against this.

If it just counted everything, it'd pass despite being wrong.

Of course, it also means if any 2 of iDunk/hyc/TheCharlatan are compromised, the tool accepts :)

And pony, since it also requires the DNSSEC protected records to check.

OTOH, this makes it not super resilient vs DoS, since if it can't access secure DNSSEC or github, it'll moan and fail. I think it's best.
