Oeadgk01 I'm talking with luigi tomorrow. We'll discuss things. :)

sgp_: the + unsigned integer part of the guide may be a bit user unfriendly, even if you explain it properly further down the line
-

sgp_, from the article it seems to me that hiring based on race is a bad idea. i think it's fine if we get uneven racial outcomes

"Many companies never stand the test of time, because they decide to dabble in unrelated efforts, and distract and divide their workforce in the process." "We don’t advocate for any particular causes or candidates internally that are unrelated to our mission, because it is a distraction from our mission. Even if we all agree something is a problem, we may not all agree on the solution."

"The reason is that while I think these efforts are well intentioned, they have the potential to destroy a lot of value at most companies, both by being a distraction, and by creating internal division."

companies, but probably other things too.

i don't really understand why bulletproofs+? i mean - the gains weren't that high were they? seems unnecessary tinkering, unless i missed something along the way?
-
midipoet
apols - i see the convo is in -research-lab

sethsimmons
6-8% size, and similar verification time improvements seem worth it for minor changes
-
sethsimmons
its a great reduction for the time between now and Arcturus/Triptych
-
sarang
The gains aren't game-changing, but they aren't trivial either, IMO

midipoet: To be frank, I have my reservations as well

msvb-web
I've lost track for when meetings are scheduled, is the calendar correct or this IRC topic or neither?

Time is fine but the meetings are scheduled bimonthly (not all four Saturdays) so either IRC topic is correct, or the calendar, but not both.
-
msvb-web
Depends really when the moderator wants the meeting to take place.
-
midipoet
Isn't it rehrar who is charge here now?
-
midipoet
Or rehrar for Core or something?
-
rehrar
I keep forgetting to change the topic. :P

No meeting today.

<bhardwajshash> Hi everyone. Just joined hoping I can get some answers as I'm panicking about some of my missing XMR
-
xmrmatterbridge
<bhardwajshash> I've just noticed that a 2017 withdrawal I made for some XMR from Bitfinex never hit my wallet. I'm writing to their support, but can I really show them any proof that I never received the amount? Is it just my word against theirs?
-
jwinterm
bhardwajshash when you withdrew you should have been given a tx id
-
jwinterm
you should still be able to look that up in your account
-
jwinterm
then you can check in any block explorer
-
jwinterm
the issue is likely on your end, and you need to resync your wallet from before the tx happened or something
-
jwinterm
but you should definitely have a tx id from finex
-
xmrmatterbridge
<bhardwajshash> Thanks. I do have the tx id. But the block explorer wouldn't say if my wallet was involved, right?
-
xmrmatterbridge
<bhardwajshash> It may be a syncing issue, yes. I tried the rescan wallet balance option, but that didn't change anything.
-
xmrmatterbridge
<bhardwajshash>
-
xmrmatterbridge
<bhardwajshash> What can I do to sync this faster? This is the first time I've opened the wallet in 2 years so I'm guessing it'll take very long
-
nioc
what wallet are you using
-
nioc
make sure you are up to date with 0.17.1.5
-
nioc
if txid shows in the block explorer than you have it
-
nioc
do you have the wallet seed?
-
nioc
yes you need to be synced to see your balance
-
xmrmatterbridge
<bhardwajshash> yes. just opened 0.17.1.5. syncing now.
-
xmrmatterbridge
<bhardwajshash> will keep you posted, thanks!
-
xmrmatterbridge
<bhardwajshash> is there a way to get this to sync faster?
-
nioc
bhardwajshash syncing the daemon?
-
nioc
get a SSD :D
-
nioc
HDD is quite slow but it will get there
-
xmrmatterbridge
<bhardwajshash> haha, im on an SDD. guess i'll just wait
