Hello, I tried to create a view-only wallet from my hww in the monero gui. It was created successfully but when I try to open it it says 'Couldn't open wallet file: does not correspond to viewonly.keys'

All I did was click the create view-only wallet button so what is going wrong here?

Why is forum.getmonero.org look abandoned? I don't know much about the origins and prime times of that forum. But looking at it now, the most recent posts seem to be from Feb 2019.

To be honest, I would appreciate having a "proper" forum other than l'eddit.

I think it *was* abandoned, or better inactivated, after problems with spam, and maybe also generally low participation.

dixie__flatline[: low participation. Was mostly used for the forum funding system. FFS became the CCS on the new platform, so it wasn't used for anything.

Rather than continually get rid of spam, it was placed into read-only. But yes, there has been discussion several times about spinning up a forum again. Flarum specifically.

<dEBRUYNE "viperperidot: Is your hardware d"> No it's not, isn't that the point of a watch-only wallet is that you do not need the spend key to view it? I thought the view key gets exported when you create the watch only wallet which is enough to open it and view.

So it is essentially only available on a per-session basis (I am simplifying, but still)

Thus, I am fairly it only works with the device plugged in

Not familiar with the project, but anything under the umbrella of monero-ecosystem is fairly decent normally
