Also Andreas hasn't been keeping up with Monero tech and sw dev for the past years

I spoke with Andreas also back in late August

sgp_: how did that go?

it went reasonably well, but I think many Bitcoin advocates underestimate the difficulty of avoiding centralized services

they assume everyone can and should just never use exchanges like coinbase, etc

so from that perspective, you can see how maybe they are less likely to be concerned about these threats. they will just interact with people who will take their money p2p I guess

so just use local btc......oh wait

yeah that's a bit of the thought process
